Dimensions
The FloorGlaze F30 has a slightly complicated dimension graph due to the level of testing the panels undertook. However it must be remembered that these panels can be combined in a long run with no support required between them.
The FloorGlaze F60 dimension graph shows that the maximum panel size is either 1144mm x 2040mm or 1040mm x 2244mm.
The FloorGlaze DG and the FloorGlaze SG are available in much larger sizes and can also be combined in a long run with no support required between them.
The important factor when calculating the size of the panel is the unsupported span required, in other words the width of the opening you need to cover. The list below shows that the larger this width is, then the thicker the overall glass panel becomes.
2-Edge Support (residential):
- Spans up to 1.2 metres = 2 x 12mm toughened and laminated.
- Spans up to 1.5 metres = 3 x 10mm toughened and laminated.
- Spans up to 1.8 metres = 3 x 12mm toughened and laminated.
- Spans up to 2.0 metres = 4 x 10mm toughened and laminated.
The same principle applies to 4-edge supported panels. In these cases it is the total size of the opening that determines the overall thickness of the glass panel.
4-Edge Support (residential):
- Openings up to 4 square metres = 2 x 12mm toughened and laminated.
- Openings up to 6 square metres = 3 x 10mm toughened and laminated.
- Openings up to 9 square metres = 3 x 12mm toughened and laminated.
Slightly different parameters apply to glass floors in commercial situations and these can be calculated on application.
